Workers from Murphy Construction are progressing with the demolition of the old Scranton wooden elevator. West Central Coop is razing the building located on Main Street near the railroad tracks. The old feed mill is no longer used.

It was announced in March that the Scranton fire department would burn the building as a training exercise with neighboring departments. However, finding a suitable date along with favorable weather conditions, proved to be difficult. Ultimately, West Central officials decided to utilize contractors to bring down the facility. ~The Scranton Journal
